I’ve been a member of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) since I became a Reflexologist at the beginning of 2017 and added Hypnotherapy to my list of modalities when I qualified in 2019.
The CNHC was set up by the UK Government to provide an independent register of UK complementary healthcare practitioners to protect the public. Registered practitioners need to meet set standards, they must be professionally trained and be fully insured to practise. They need to commit to the CNHC Code of Conduct, Ethics and Performance, and ensure their skills are continually being upgraded.
The CNHC’s register has been approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA), a body accountable to Parliament.
So what does all this mean to you, the client?
Registration to the CNHC is voluntary, and registration should bring a level of confidence to you, the valued client, that your chosen practitioner is qualified to practice their modality, carries appropriate insurance, and conducts themselves to a high standard.
