Unwanted habits can cover a large range of behaviours, the most common of which are nail biting or picking, hair sucking or twiddling, spot scratching, excessive nose picking, etc. These come under the heading of anxiety conditions. Sometimes we don’t even know we are doing them, but others do!
You will be asked to fill out a questionnaire about your unwanted habit, which will be the basis upon which we will structure the therapy. You will be asked to keep a habit diary. I will help you with imagery of the habit and overcoming it. This will be coupled with relaxation and desensitisation, and other practices as required.
